Un Cuento de Pescadores

Mexico | 2024 | Spanish, Purepecha | 103 min. | e.s.

A horror story that intertwines four tales set on a fishing island in Lake Pátzcuaro, Michoacán. According to legend, nature once thrived in harmony around the lake and its islands until evil arrived. An evil spirit, La Miringua, stalks the inhabitants, casting a dark shadow over their lives. It is a story of a spirit that takes the form of a woman to lure fishermen into the depths of the lake as punishment for their sins.

The director: “La Miringua means oblivion or forgetting. She confuses people, making them lose track of time and space until they forget themselves and eventually lose their lives”.
