10th edition CIFF – 10-14 April 2024
The fourth edition of Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam will take place from Wednesday 25 March till Sunday 29 March 2015. Leading up to the festival week in March, several activities are already starting up.
Short Movies, BIG Stories
The local short film competition offers Curaçao filmmakers a platform to develop and share their talent with the public. For the 2015 edition, the short film (genre: fiction, documentary, music video or animation) should reflect one of the following themes: Neighbors, i-Mad, of My Name is….
All films entered into the competition will be published on the YouTube channel of the organization and jury will select one winner per genre. These Jury Award winning films will be screened during the festival where the audience can vote for their favorite to win the Audience Award.
Entries can be submitted from 1 November and no later than 27 February 2015 through the account on the website.

Yellow Robin Award Competition
Feature length films and narrative documentaries can be entered into the international Yellow Robin Award competition for emerging filmmakers from the Caribbean and Latin America until 1 January 2015. Director Damian Marcano (Trinidad & Tobago) of the winning film of the 2014 edition: God Loves the Fighter, is currently in the Netherlands for film workshops to youngsters. In January, his film will be screened during the 44th edition of IFFR. The Yellow Robin Award competition has gained a lot of international recognition and entries are already pouring in. The nominees for the 2015 edition will be announced in February.
Monthly Curaçao IFFR screening
Audience favorite of the 2014 festival, Gloria, kicks off a new series of monthly screenings.
This subtle, but effective drama about the vivacious, fifty-something Gloria (played by Paulina Garcia ) was the official entry from Chile for the Oscar category for Best Foreign Language in 2014. In 2013, Actress García was awarded the Silver Bear at the Berlin film festival.
Gloria starts on Thursday 23 October and will be screened daily for two weeks in The Cinemas.
Screening times: 17:30 and 20:00 in Cinemas 4.
