Three nurses live in modern-day Mumbai: Prabha (Kani Kusruti) and roommates Anu (Divya Prabha) and Parvati (Chhaya Kadam). Having moved from smaller towns to the bustling metropolis, each woman must find her own way of adapting to the city and dealing with new experiences and emotions.

One day, Prabha unexpectedly receives a brand-new rice cooker from Germany. Her roommates assume it was sent by her long-absent husband – but what does this “gift” really mean? Meanwhile, a doctor is showing romantic interest in Prabha. Her younger roommate Anu has to come up with deceptive schemes and decide how to continue her relationship with her Muslim boyfriend. All in all, insecurity hangs over these women’s lives. In order to escape Mumbai, the women travel to Parvati’s home village on the coast. Away from the city’s buzz, their unrealized dreams and unexpected fears begin to surface.
